Check out Pete Hughes' excellent pictures of past festivals:
2005,
2006,
2007 and
2008.
Kiss The Sky haven't done any full-scale gigs yet but are already producing
some beautifully fresh and exciting new sounds. The Tadley three-piece use a
combination of sequencers and live instruments to bring their musical vision to
a live stage and are fronted by the lovely Mel, who's breathtaking vocals are
causing a stir wherever they are heard. Absolutely a band to keep an eye out for.

Tell us what you thought
We promised you big: we delivered!
We promised you better: the bands were simply stunning this year!
We promised you sunshine: the weather was glorious!
Sonia and Fish would like to say an enormous thank-you to everyone
who helped, performed and attended this year's festival. We can't name
all of the ninety-odd volunteers who gave their time to rig, crew, cater and
marshall the festival - or the dedicated few who remained to de-rig afterwards
and clean up the site - but we must single out Claire, who's incredibly hard
and persistant work on the legal and admin side made everything else possible,
and ORA Productions
who provided the marquee, sound and lighting systems for free.
The ORA team
have been spending ridiculous amounts of time preparing for
this event (over ¼km of extra cabling was made up just for the festival)
and some of the guys pulled shifts of up to 50 hours to make it all happen.
ORA can make any
wedding,
party or
corporate event
special: please take a minute to look at their
web-site.

We've got the site clear and most of the equipment has found its way
back home. The marquee will get unloaded and put away this morning
and then we are done for another year.
We still have quite a lot of lost property, although we were able to
return most of it on the night. If you are missing anything,
we have cameras, mobiles, bags, jackets and more. Drop us a line
to lost@silchestermusicfestival.org
and we'll see what we can do.
Huge thanks to Terry Arrowsmith and Hampshire Constabulary for their
friendly and sensitive policing of the event.
==========
Everything is now running flat out for SMF09. We've acquired a whole
truck-load of new lighting which is currently being tested and
refurbished. Our 5th Birthday is really going to look special. We are
hoping to black out the stage area to get the most out of the stunning
lighting rig and we've got some great-looking stage-dressing to make
the drum-riser look special.
The wonderful Lawrence Wright (Ministry Of Sound) has already started
programming the rig, so he's got a three-week head-start on last year:
expect something special!.
For the PA, we have an astonishing 21,000 watts of amplifiers (honest)
which will cope effortlessly with anything we care to throw at it. Not
that we want to be loud: we just love big numbers!
If you fancy getting involved, we are always interested in help with rigging,
crewing, marshalling or just generally gophering:

Can you help publicise the festival? We can supply free full-colour posters
for your office, school, club or lamp-post.
